It seems like in today’s time, people do not take marriage seriously. People have their own agendas and reasons for getting married other than I love you, I can’t imagine my life without you, and I look to build with you. We have gotten caught up in the “cut off” error as well, so when things don’t go the way we feel they should, we are quick to remove people out of our lives including the person we marry. I believe the reason for this is because of the “ME Syndrome”. Everyone is looking for something and someone to serve them, but no one is looking to serve.
Marriage is about serving one another and bringing glory to God. When we look to do right by our spouses and not focus on what they should or should not be doing, we then please God. There is no perfection found in marriage, only sacrifice, love and commitment. Being committed is what will keep us going during the low moments in marriage. We must be willing to keep going, even on the days we feel tired and weary.
If we are only entering a marriage for the sake of what can only be gained, then we are setting ourselves up for future failure. Marriage is a give and take. It is something not to be entered lightly. It is something that must be sowed into on a consistent basis. If that is something you are not up for, then don’t get married.
Below are 10 reasons not to get married.

There are professional ways to deal with are own internal issues. Counseling is a good way to help get passed our own toxic traits. Also, prayer and taking a good look at one's self can assist in becoming a better person, not just for marriage, but for yourself as well.
Remember this: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
